KEY SCRIPTURE Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God... RELEVANCE Below is a wonderful response from a Christian apologist when asked a couple of questions about God's origin and power. I thought it worth sharing. QUESTIONS "1. I am confused. Being consistent and being a very honest person, I am sure you can tell me where God came from. 2. In addition, once you've told me where God comes from, please try to clarify how you can figure that a spiritual force can have an impact on a material universe to create it. I think that some years ago we'd already talked about that kind of thing. And in philosophical circles I remember we posed the question that if angels are made of spiritual matter and a pen is made of material matter, and spiritual matter displaces no space, how many angels can dance on the tip of a pen?" ANSWERS (From Kent Hovind. Kent is controversial and doesn't get good Wiki press, but his answers here are superb) "Your question of where did God come from assumes that you’re thinking of the wrong God; because the God of the Bible is not affected by time, space, or matter. If He’s affected by time, space, or matter, He’s not God. Time, space and matter is what we call a continuum. All of them have to come into existence in the same instant. Because if there were matter but no space, where would you put it? If there were matter and space but no time, WHEN would you put it? You cannot have time, space or matter independently, they have to come into existence simultaneously. The Bible answers that in ten words. 1. In the beginning = Time 2. God created the Heaven = Space 3. And the earth = Matter So you have time, space, and matter creating a trinity of trinities. 1. Time is past, present, future 2. Space has length, width, height 3. Matter has solid, liquid, gas You have a trinity of trinities created instantaneously. And the God who created them has to be outside of them. If He’s limited by time, He’s not God. The guy who created this computer I'm using is not in the computer. He’s not running around in there changing the numbers on the screen. The God who created this universe, is outside the universe. He’s above it, beyond it, in it, through it, He’s unaffected by it. So, to hold to the concept that a spiritual force cannot have any effect on a material body, well then, I guess you’d have to explain to me things like emotion, love and hatred, envy and jealously, and rationality. I mean if your brain is just a random collection of chemicals formed by chance over billions of years, how can you trust your own reasoning processes and the thoughts you think? Your question, Where did God come from, is assuming a limited God, and that’s your problem. The God that I worship is not limited by time, space or matter. If I could fit the infinite God in my three-pound brain, He would not be worth worshipping, that’s for sure. So, that's the God that I worship. " Some people purposefully resist facts of God. Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. PRAYER Dear Lord, thank you for science, as it proves daily that you not only exist, but what you created is real as your Word states. Please give strength, comfort and boldness to those Godly scientists who resist the flow of modern liberal thoughts and theologies to present your truth through evidence.
