The Lord asked Jonah to step up. Instead, he stepped out. How often has that happened to us?
God asks us to do something which is out of our comfort zone, so we make a choice not to do it.
In the hospital yesterday for one of my 8:00 am appointments, another kidney transplant recipient I had seen the previous day asked me how I was going with it all. He said God placed me on his heart the previous day to pray for me, which, after asking me, laid hands on me and prayed with Heather.
It didn’t concern him that others were looking on. He stood up there in the waiting room and did it. We made a new friend.
After a couple of questions, I found out he knew my cousin, Keith Bailey, who passed away a few years ago. Had he just sat there frozen in fear, we may never have got to the depth of discussions and relationship we did.
God doesn't give us more than we can handle. He didn't provide Jonah with too much, because he knew the heart of the Ninevites at that time. It was Jonah who thought it was a too weightier burden and ran the other way.
If we could have more trust in the Lord as our overseer, and follow His instructions, we should find many doors opening unto us in faith.
Today's Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the burdens you place on me. Please help me get over my embarrassment and fear to do your will at the time you want it done.
