Another embarrassing scripture for us. Why do we sometimes think we have the right to judge and condemn others when we haven’t taken the time to witness to them?
Bringing an unbeliever or a backslider to Christ is sometimes instantaneous, but most times it is not and requires patience and commitment.
When we look at our own failings, we don’t see God calling us failures, do we? He is much more understanding of the human spirit than that. Yet, sometimes we hear disparaging comments coming from ‘christ-ones’ and even ourselves about the unsaved or fallen comrades, like we are great pillars of faith.
In times like that it would do us good to bring this scripture to mind, and return us to the realisation that we too, like Christ, are not in this world to condemn it, but to save it.
