Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
Philippians 2:14-16
When we murmur, we move from being blameless to blameable. This is due to the unthankful attitude we display when we whinge about what we have been already given by God, and willfully forget God’s promises which are to come.
Furthermore, we then move from being harmless to harmful as we generate the actions which come from our wrong thoughts, whether verbal or otherwise.
e.g. James 3:9-11 “Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
Our aim should be to become a fountain of living water, pouring out the love and blessings of a saviour who has done the same for us.
