And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

1 Samuel 3:19

How did Samuel let none of the Lord's words fall to the ground?

He let the seed of the word plant itself deep in his good-soiled heart. Then, he watered it and dunged it, and that Word grew into great stature within him.

The Bible states that God's Word never returns void, meaning it always does what it was purposed to do (Isaiah 55:11).  How does God's Word do its work if we don't let it sink itself deep in our being'? How does it do the job? How does God's Word grow in us if we forget the Pastor's message? Sometimes we hear sermons which immediately resonate with us, and we can always remember them. However, we need God's Word consistently embedding itself into us across a range of subjects, not just our favourites. We, therefore, must keep it sacred. Don't let God's Word fall to the ground in your life. Keep a notepad and pen close by.

Today's Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the importance of this verse. Help me never to forget it. Please help me to create a desire to hold your Word dear to my heart, so I never let it fall to the ground. Please help me to find ways to retain it and let it do its vital work in me.
