He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

- Proverbs 10:17

Building on the theme of wisdom and making wise choices, here we see Solomon informing us that there is a way of life and a way of erring (consistently making mistakes and wrong decisions), and if we keep instructions (turn them into actions), we are well on that way of life.

When we look at the number of guidelines we are meant to keep, we can lose perspective and think there are just too many to put into practice, and we can’t do it. God wants us to start somewhere with one of them. Then put the second one into practice, and so on.

The worst thing we can do for ourselves is to drown in the amount, remaining frozen, and not doing anything. On this road to glory, we are forever moving, one way or the other, so keep moving forward, one instruction at a time.

Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you again for these small pearls of wisdom from your Word. Continue to help me put on wise instruction as life’s garments, so, I, in return, will be able to help more people distinguish the differences between wisdom and erring.
