591 We Shall Not Be Moved. Jan 26, 2025

KEY SCRIPTURE. I Corinthians 3: 11

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

RELEVANCE

Two blog posts ago, I discussed a Christian's foundation and the importance of being built on the Rock of Ages, Jesus Christ. After I sent it, an interesting discovery arose.

While reading Strong's concordance, I came across the Greek word katabolé, which means foundation or establishment.

Most people want to be established, grounded, or founded on a sure foundation. But in doing so, they can end up exploring every snake-oil belief on the market, except the one that counts.

Jesus Christ calls us to become Born Again into a Heavenly reality. In that transformation, internal changes occur, including the development of a new and exciting trust in the Rock of Our Salvation. Our feet are placed on a sure footing—something we have never had before. That foundation is established through the unsurpassable grace of God.

In Strong's concordance, the Greek word for foundation is katabolé, which interestingly speaks of impregnation. It means ‘a casting down’. Figuratively, it is conception—to conceive. “The injecting or depositing of the “virile’ semen in the womb. Note the word virile, as opposed to non-viable sperm.

Trying to relate conception to foundations may seem odd, but not when it comes to the foundation of a child in the womb or when we become Born Again into God. It produces the image of God (His DNA) within instead of a distorted image from half-faith, non-viable sperm—an untimely birth, so to speak. (Job 3:16).

Now, I don't know if that excites you, but it excites me because it draws acceptable parallels between the faith that we build up within and the assurance of all we stand upon.

Therefore, if we remain upon the Rock and nurture the seed within, We shall not be moved!

Praise the Name of Jesus!

PRAYER

Dear Lord, you are the God we cannot help but rejoice over. Thank you for that precious DNA that brings us securely into your fold and grants us the right to stand upon the Rock.
