KEY SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 14:15
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
RELEVANCE
A wise man once said:
Once you understand the power of your words, you won't just say anything.
Once you understand the power of your thoughts, you won't just think anything.
Once you understand the power of your presence, you won't just be anywhere.
Know your value!
This powerful saying sobers Christians particularly, as our Bibles are war chests of wisdom. Yet, too often, we speak with little thought, think without discernment, and venture without caution.
As we grow in spiritual stature, we become more valuable—of greater worth to other people and God.
Why is that?
It's because we are not alone. The Holy Spirit within guides us to be sweeter, more controlled, and more willing to go the extra mile. We are not left to our own devices but are led by God's wisdom as we put on his knowledge and understanding. Further, we believe in the afterlife—not just foolish thoughts of cotton wool clouds, angels, and harps, but a factual belief in an omnipotent God full of come-to-pass promises who created Heaven and Earth. We are valuable, the salt of the earth, saved by Grace and recipients of those promises.
Therefore, we must preserve that value as we go, placing prudence as the filter for our conversations, thoughts and choices of places we go. God spends much time working His clay followers into the pattern He chooses. Let's work with Him.
We could go a long way by heeding these three tenets.
May the Lord bless and keep you this day.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for reminding me that when the Lord of Heaven and Earth is our designer, creator and guide, we must be valuable.
