The Signs of Christ. 387. June 5, 2022

Updated: Jun 16, 2022

KEY SCRIPTURE

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

APPLICATION

I worked for a major sign company for ten years. The company was so bold that it made and installed its own street sign above the council street sign, informing people of how to get to their business.

Think about signs for a minute. What are they? What are some signs that we're sick or injured? Sore throat, shakes, fever, bruising, broken bones? Or, as I found out last Thursday while speaking to a lady at the Narooma wharf NSW whom a snake had bitten—the two puncture holes were the sign. A low battery signal is another sign, as are crimson mornings that highlight bad weather.

There will be a sign of the coming of Christ. Also, an immense, grievous and prolonged mourning from those who ignored Him. Signs of shame will light up many faces when they realise who they have rejected and see that God's little black book, the Bible, was right after all.

The principles, baptisms, promises, gifts, the Strait Gate, Royal Priesthood, the power and the glory, and the unveiling of Christ's Kingship, will be evident. The Dawn of Facts will finally arise in the twinkling of an eye. That overwhelming mourning shall come at the sign's display, and then The King shall appear in His majesty.

All the mischievous debaters, false religions and their 'holy' leaders, false prophets, greedy pastors who scattered the Lord's flock and trampled His vineyard, the scoffers and the brutal murderers of His precious people, and all who followed them, will gaze in bewilderment at a phenomenon nobody can ignore.

What are the signs they did ignore?

I think the first sign was when Adam and Eve failed to resist Satan, showing how easily seduction happens. The second sign was the covering of Adam and Eve's personals, demonstrating the sensing of sin once the mind is convinced. The third sign was their eviction from beauty and innocence, presenting the reality and consequence of sin.

Aren't those three signs enough to raise enough fear to discard ignorance?

Is John 14:6 a sign? "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Yes, it's a sign that points to answers for life's three most important questions.

Hebrews 2:3-4 provides a glaring sign when it says, "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Has God's Word been screaming directly at you for attention, yet you think it's for someone else to obey?

What messages has God sent you, only to find you ignore or disregard them?

The signs from God await our response. Isaiah 55:6 instructs us to "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:"

2 Corinthians 6:2 responds. "For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

Our precious Saviour points us to the Way He walked—in a relationship so close with His Father it cannot be separated. Closer than bone and marrow, than soul and spirit, than thoughts and intents of the heart, His desire is for us to enjoy that same relationship.

His signs show the direction. Let's get better at seeing them.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, thank you for the signposts and signs you have everywhere through scripture. But I'm sure I've overlooked many in my ignorance and pride. Please don't stop cautioning and leading me in your paths of righteousness.
