KEY SCRIPTURE Psalm 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
RELEVANCE
While on holidays, I came across a song I hadn't heard before. Maybe you have? God Walks The Dark Hills.
What attracted me to this version by Iris DeMent was the haunting way it was sung. The musical arrangement seems out of sync; nevertheless, I found it magnetising. For those who don't know Iris, she sung Everlasting Arms in the 2010 version of True Grit.
As I listened to the song a few times (I tend to do that if it catches me), it reflected our key verse so aptly— that there need be no fear in our dark places. cWe all have those times when the problem seems so much bigger than us, where the shadows present a fearful size of our difficulty. Some of you may be going through a dark place at the moment. Now is the time to remember to grip the hand of your Saviour. He is your light, your guide and your lifeline through all troubles. No trouble—NO trouble is too great for the one who died on the Cross for us. Shuffle forward if that is all you can do, but stay attached to Jesus.
God Walks The Dark Hills.
God walks the dark hills
The ways, the by ways
He walks through the billows
Of life's troubled sea
He walks through the cold dark night
The shadows of midnight
God walks the dark hills
Just to guide you and me
(CHORUS)
God walks the dark hills
To guide my footsteps
He walks everywhere
By night and by day
He walks in the silence
On down the highway
God walks the dark hills
To show me the way
God walks in the storm
The rain and the sunshine
He walks on the billows
On through glimmering light
Helps us walk up the mountain so high
Cross our rivers through valleys
God walks the dark hills
'Cause He loves you and me.

Stay close to Jesus and let him overcome all your fears.
PRAYER Dear Lord, you are my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? You are the strength of my life; of whom (or of what) shall I be afraid?
