The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

- Proverbs 21:1

Even the heart of a king, so lofty and out of reach of most of us, is at the mercy of the Lord. How much more our hearts? This condition brings in the subject of the importance of prayer. How hard is it to pray for those in power, such as kings, presidents or prime minister’s? I mean, really pray so that God will change their hearts? God tells us to pray for those people in authority. (1 Tim 2:1-2), and the verse above shows us why.

Psalm 72 teaches us how to pray for our leaders.

Today’s Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for instructing me to pray for my leaders. please help me to always see this as necessary, and to pray well- thought, meaningful prayers
